You can permanently delete your Kote Health account and the personal and health data associated with it at any time. This page explains the two ways to do that and what happens to your data afterward.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)

1. Open the Kote Health app and sign in.
2. Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
3. Confirm the deletion.

Your account is deactivated immediately and your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can no longer sign in, or you prefer not to use the app, send us a deletion request and we will process it for you.

Or write to us directly at [email protected] and include:

• The full name on your account
• The phone number you use to sign in (with country code, e.g. +251...)
• Whether the account is a patient or a doctor account
• A clear statement that you want your account and associated data permanently deleted

For your security, we may contact you on the phone number associated with the account to verify the request before we delete it.

What gets deleted

• Your profile, name, contact information, and emergency contacts
• All health data you entered: vital signs, medications, allergies, diagnoses, blood type
• Medical records, lab results, prescriptions, and uploaded files
• Your appointment history and any clinical notes attached to you
• Your Emergency QR code and the data shared through it
• Sessions, devices, and login tokens linked to your account

What may be retained (and why)

We may retain a limited subset of information after deletion only where we are legally required to or where it is necessary for fraud prevention or dispute resolution:

• Medical record-keeping obligations. Where applicable law requires healthcare providers or platforms to retain certain clinical records for a minimum period, we keep only what the law requires and only for the required period.
• Anonymized usage logs. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics may be retained to operate the Service.
• Fraud and security records. We may keep limited information needed to prevent abuse.

Everything that is not subject to one of the above is permanently deleted within 30 days of your request.

How long it takes

• In-app deletion: account is deactivated instantly; data is permanently removed within 30 days.
• Email request: we acknowledge within 3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days of verification.

This is permanent

Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. If you want to use Kote Health again afterward, you will need to create a new account.
